‘Humshakals’ earns Rs. 12.50 crore nett on Opening Day

Sajid Khan’s latest film Humshakals had an excellent opening day at the Indian Box Office. The movie on its initial day earned 12.50 crores, thus recording the Third Highest Opener of the season. Inspite of having a slow start, the movie picked up hugely later in the day. Jai Ho raked in 17.50 crores on First Day and Humshakals has beaten Holiday and 2 States First day record of 12.00 crores and 11.75 crores respectively.

The movie received a decent footfall at the multiplexes for the evening and night shows. However, the single screens too showed a similar pattern. Interestingly, even though the movie has been touted to be below average by the critics, the comedian caper coming from Sajid Khan looks to have had no effect of that on the viewers.

A powerful word of mouth has proved helpful for the film’s business in a major way. Featuring Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor in lead characters, Humshakals has fared best in the Mumbai circuit and the performance has executed even better than the Akshay Kumar starrer Holiday.
