Bollywood film Ek Tha Tiger, which was launched on August 15, has still been keeping the bells ringing at the local Box Office. Salman Khan starrer movie has raked in Rs 195.03 crs nett at the collection centres in 3 weeks. Now, it is all set to surpass Rs 200 crs mark and beat the lifetime collection record of Aamir Khan’s film 3 Idiots.
Due to the poor review of the film Joker, Ek Tha Tiger continued to rock the audiences and received Rs 6.51 crs nett at the local Box Office in the 3rd weekend taking its 19 day total to Rs 191.34 crs nett. The breakup of its 3rd weekend business is Rs 1.24 cr on Friday, Rs 2.11 cr on Sat and Rs 3.16 cr on Sunday. As usual, the business of Ek Tha Tiger fell down by over 50% on weekdays. But the film witnessed a jump in its business on Wednesday and that’s because of Teachers’ day holiday. It added Rs 3.69 crs to its 3 weeks total collection Rs 195.03 crs nett at the local Box Office. The breakup of its weekdays collection is Rs 88 lakhs on Monday, Rs 87 lakhs on Tuesday, Rs 1.04 cr on Wed, Rs 90 cr on Thu.
However, Raaz 3, which has launched in cinemas yesterday, is the new competitor for Ek Tha Tiger. But trade experts claim that Emraan-Bipasha starter may not affect the business of the latter, as it is part of the horror genre. They say that Ek Tha Tiger would cross Rs 200 crs mark this weekend and break the lifetime collection record of Aamir Khan starrer film ‘3 Idiots’, which has raked in Rs 202 crs nett at the local Box Office.
