After Raj Thackeray’s MNS threatened to interrupt the launch of Chennai Express, featuring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, director Rohit Shetty met Mr Thackeray at his home. Also at the meeting were the cast of Marathi movie Duniyadari.
Rohit Shetty told journalists: “I know Raj saab personally. We came to meet on a small confusion.”
The MNS’ movie unit is angry over reports that Chennai Express has asked for prime slots in single theatres across the state at the expense of Marathi movies like Duniyadari.
“If the producers of Chennai Express attempt to dislodge any of the ongoing or forthcoming Marathi movies, we shall not tolerate it and deal with it in MNS style,” warned Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (film wing) chief Amey Khopkar.
He particularly described the hit Marathi film Duniyadari, running to full houses since July 19, 2013 in single screen theatres in non-metro cities and small towns.
