Bollywood star Sunny Deol, whose recent appearance was in Singh Saab The Great, believes his father’s movies are iconic and shouldn’t be remade.
When reporter asked if he would like to join the remake and bring back any of his father Dharmendra’s movies to the big screen, he said he wouldn’t do.
“I wouldn’t do it for any other reason because dad’s films have been such iconic films,” he said.
His veteran father starred in hit films like Sholay, Phool Aur Paththar, Seeta Aur Geeta and Chupke Chupke. He turns 77.
“There is magic in them. The way the directors directed them, it’s wonderful! We don’t have directors who can understand the detailing of those films. I feel we should just see them and appreciate them,” said Sunny Deol.
According to him, his father’s films are an inspiration, not for remake.
“You can pick up an idea from them, but can’t remake. I can’t remake his films as they are iconic,” he added.
Deol’s recent release was Singh Saab The Great which was released this Friday. The film is directed by Anil Sharma.
