Indian Supreme Court, dismissed a case registered against Shahrukh Khan. It was observed by the court that the actor can’t be aimed merely due to his celebrity fame.
A case accusing SRK of building his palatial Mumbai bungalow ‘Mannat’ in breach of different laws was registered by 2 Mumbai residents. As the petitioner solely targeted against SRK and there was no reason for the court to intervene, reports Zee News.
The Bombay High Court had, on January 28, dismissed the PIL registered by the duo and imposed a fine on them saying it was a “publicity case”. The top court said while the petitioner may be bonafide individuals, yet, if there’re thousands of this kind of violators, they can’t pick one individual along merely because of his/her celebrity status.
SRK’s legal representatives argued that there was no breach of laws and the construction was allowed by the municipal body and the high court had rightly dismissed the PIL.
