‘Chennai Express’ earns Rs.171.04 Crs nett worldwide in 4 Days

Chennai Express has earned massive 12.62 crore nett on Monday (4th Day) at the domestic box office according to early reports. Thus, the movie has attained second biggest non-holiday record after Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (12.75 crore nett). The movie started gradually on Monday, but eventually picked up by evening and night shows to put up a decent number for the day. Chennai Express has earned around 113.04 Cr nett at the Indian box office and worldwide collections roughly 171.04 after 4 days.

Movie registered an occupancy of roughly 35% for Monday, which is very good, considering the wide screen launch and working day. The movie was quite slow in Morning with 25% occupancy. But picked up well to register 40-45%+ occupancy for Evening and Night shows. Movie registered a serious fall on Multiplexes as it is a typical trend there for weekdays. But in single screens drop was less in comparison to multiplexes.

Chennai Express is already second biggest grosser of 2013 in 4 days flat. It is now chasing YJHD lifetime collection to become the highest grosser of the season 2013. The movie has shaped up well in Monday, which augurs well for Tuesday and Wednesday to follow.
