CBFC advised director of film Rajjo to raise the age of the hero in film

Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Rajjo is facing a small hurdle as the featuring actor opposite Kangana, is shown as 18 years old. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has advised the filmmaker to raise the on-screen age of the hero of the film from 18 to 21 years as the legal marriageable age for men in India is 21.

The director Vishwas Patil respects the decision of board.

Rajjo is featuring Kangana Ranaut as a 24-year-old nautch girl, who is seen getting married to Chandu (character), who is aged 18.

The censor board advised makers to increase hero’s age because this will send out a wrong message to the youngsters.

“I respect censor board’s decision, and luckily there were no scenes where the actor and Kangana are talking about the boy’s age,” director Patil said.

“It’s just that I have taken the concept from a short story of Jayant Pawar…But yes, I will send a letter to the board once the film hits theatres,” he said.

Rajjo has been produced under the banner of Four Pillars Entertainment. It is a musical extravaganza and promises to have something for the masses and classes. It is scheduled to be released on 26 July, 2013.
