Madhuri Dixit’s recent release Gulaab Gang has apparently facing problem in its smooth release in Uttar Pradesh.
The activist Sampat Pal has reportedly claimed that the film is based on her life. She headed to Delhi High Court on Wednesday to request to block the release of Gulaab Gang.
Sampat Pal formed “Gulabi Gang”, a group of pink sari clad women vigilantes from Uttar Pradesh.
Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla have shared screen space together in Gulaab Gang, which is slated for a March 7 release.
In High Court, Sampat Pal restrained to release the movie, saying the filmmakers didn’t take her permission before making the film. She also claimed that certain scenes in Gulaab Gang can affect her reputation.
Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, hearing the plea, questioned Sampat Pal for the delay in filing the plea.
On her approach, the court asked; “Why you approached the court last minute when movie is going to release? Why didn’t you come earlier?”
Gulaab Gang is directed by debutant Soumik Sen and produced by Anubhav Sinha.
